By entering the company website and providing any information, Britannica Knowledge Systems assumes you are interested in obtaining more details about our company, technology and product offerings.
When you submit a request or electronically provide information to Britannica Knowledge Systems (including, but not limited to, forms, comments, feedback, employment applications and resumes), you are sometimes asked to provide certain information, including, but not limited to, your name, job title, company, address, phone and fax numbers, e-mail address and line of business. We ask for this personally identifiable information to facilitate your requests, provide a personalized service and to communicate with you. Except as otherwise set forth herein, we do not sell, trade, or rent your personally identifiable information with any third parties outside of Britannica Knowledge Systems.
We also gather personal information via our social media channels, through digital marketing associated with the website, and at professional conferences, conventions and other related events by collecting business cards.
Some information is automatically collected including, but not limited to, data relating to the browser, device or operating system you use to access our services, your IP address, the website you came from, information on actions taken on our services including, but not limited to pages viewed, dates and times of visits and time spent on each page.
Because we rely on third party commercial software and programs to operate our servers, we may inadvertently collect personal information due to certain automatic functions or features contained in such software or due to software changes or upgrades. We will use reasonable efforts to remove any such information after we discover it in our system. If you know of any such unintended collections, please notify us promptly so we can take the necessary action to remove such information from our system.
Google Analytics and Remarketing
Britannica has implemented Google Analytics features based on Display Advertising (e.g., Remarketing). Using the Ads Settings, visitors can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize Google Display Network ads. Users can also visit Google Analytics’ currently available opt-outs for the web. Britannica follows the Google AdWords Interest-Based Advertising Policy and its sensitive category restrictions. Britannica uses Remarketing with Google Analytics to advertise online. Third-party vendors, including Google, may show our ads on sites across the Internet. Britannica and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies (such as the Google Analytics cookie) and third-party cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on someone’s past visits to our website and to report how our ad impressions, other uses of ad services, and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services are related to visits to our site.
